Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand

I'm beginning to really enjoy narrative non-fiction and also have a personal interest in World War II; this book is a good marriage of the two. World War II stories are usually focused on the Holocaust and Germany's role, but this story is from the perspective of an American POW, imprisoned by the Japanese. After the success of Seabiscuit, it's not surprising that Hillenbrand infuses screenplay-esque type writing. I wouldn't be surprised if this book is made into a film. At times her theme is reinforced a bit too aggressively (OK - I GET IT!), but it's definitely an intriguing story.

Seriously thought-provoking and reassuring for me...someone that doesn't dive too deeply into "the power of positive thinking".
