Loved this book! The storytelling kept me engaged and interested the entire time. I never found it dull or dragging. The twist wasn't too obvious
we knew there would a twist with Joni, that was inevitable!

I really enjoyed this memoir. Thinking about language this way and learning it through life makes so much sense. I'd love to immerse myself in French to learn it.

I did quite enjoy this book, which makes it kinda sad I put it off for so long (bought 2020, read 2024). It didn't feel like it brought much new to the topic of widowdom and grief, but it did deal with it in a very real way I think. It was appropriate for the topics it felt with despite how difficult they can be, and it was well written.

Great book. I listened to the audiobook and while the content is 5 stars, the way the narrator pronounced some of the names really grated me. Pulcher with a soft ch (it's a hard sound) and Pliny like pl-EYE-knee (pl-IN-ee). But that's probably just me.

It was a good book, I was just bored. I think that could be because I wasn't much in the mood for a period piece but also really wanted to read a period piece??? Idk how to explain it. But it really got me once it got me (about 60% maybe).

This is a book that everyone should read, especially Canadians. The topic of residential schools is a tough one but it is an incredibly necessary one, and the least we can do today is listen to the stories that came from them, to the children who were smothered by them. Wagamese did a phenomenal job at telling Indian Horse's story and showing through the revelation of certain memories years after the fact, how abuse can effect someone. Saul is a strong character, and he will never leave my mind. I will be thinking of his story forever.

This was such a cool book! I love how the author is telling us the stewardesses stories as the narrator. It was such an interesting read, and I learned so much about the rules/regulations, norms of the business, and the aid provided during the Vietnam war.

This was definitely my favourite of the series. While I like Kate as a character and I did enjoy her story, I loved seeing how all the gods became who they were and why they made certain choices, etc.
