Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail by Ashley Herring Blake

I wanted to love this SO much. I had loved Delilah Green's story and I loved Astrid & Jordan as characters, but I didn't love them as a couple. It just didn't seem like they were meant to end up together. Hopefully I enjoy Iris's story more.
What Monstrous Gods by Rosamund Hodge

This book went by incredibly fast. It felt like one thing happened after another without any development. It made it hard to feel anything for the characters or the story. The first few chapters felt like enough plot for an entire book. I feel like this would have been better if the author were to have written this book as a series instead of a standalone and given the story more time to be developed. The storyline itself was very interesting, just not well executed. I did love that this is a Reylo fanfic, but it didn't live up to the original. The romance felt rushed; it didn't have the slowburn enemies-to-lovers feeling that Reylo did.

Medusa's story will always be heartbreaking, but I loved seeing her point of view in this retelling. I have read many Greek retellings, and this is my favorite of Medusa. She was such a well-developed and well-rounded character.

This was such an intriguing plot! I felt for Cordelia so much. It gave me a similar feeling to Ella Enchanted in that Cordelia was forced to obey her mother. I have never read the fairy tale it was based on (The Goose Girl), but now I want to read it to compare the two.
