I really enjoyed the writing style of this book, and I enjoyed reading the protagonist. While her flaws were fully on display, I found her style of thinking interesting to read. 
When I was trying to summarize the book, I'd refer to the blurb written about this book which is just such a bad summary of it. The book focuses much more on "love addiction," and the relationship between mother/daughter than simply Palestinian American identity. Its a great read, but the blurb doesn't properly set it up.

Amazing start to Takahiro Arai's manga adaptation of Les Miserables. It really communicates the internal struggle characters go through in combination with being fairly accurate to Hugo's original plot.
