Did not finish book. Stopped at 36%.
The plot was really boring and the main character was not very likeable. I can’t believe the two leads names are Effie and Ernie! Wouldn’t that drive you nuts to read and write a book with two names so similar??

The writing? Excellent although at times I felt like I was missing ~the point~ of everything (maybe I’m just a dummy without an English degree)
The subject matter? Heartbreaking and bleak
Was it good? Kinda? More compelling than good

These books are growing on me. The audio version is enjoyable-this male narrator was the best of the three so far. Loved the father daughter dynamic and I can’t believe I actually liked a story about Gus. The epilogue was a litttttle 🤢🤢🤢 but enjoyed that it ended on a cliff hanger! The authors note helped win me over too.
