i really enjoy iain reid’s writing style, and he’s incredibly good at creating a sense of ill-ease and foreboding

fun and funny with a satisfying little plot. this series will be good to come back to when i’m in a reading rut.
the main character being an android and just wanting to be left alone to watch reality shows is such a vibe

emily henry really does give her characters full lives outside of the romantic plot!!! some of the friction was needlessly dramatic imo but besides that i really enjoyed the plot. had a laugh the iykyk tay swift reference right at the end (“flags so red they were practically maroon”). i want to take a full star off for the constant mentions of daphne’s food moan 🤢 but decided to only dock .5 of a star

i can see why people love this book but it didn’t do it for me. well written though, and a pleasant surprise to see the book dedicated to one of my all time favourite authors, daniel handler
