A tale that’s got a lot going for it, albeit it’s not too extravagant. But it’s hard to ignore the superlatives in every, single sentence when it’s translated as it is here. The text becomes a bit comical at times, I would argue.

You get a lot of interesting facts about Roman life and politics in this volume, where Augustus’ text are accompanied by notes, maps, pictures and so on.
You get a lot of info, but everything could have been deeper and richer, including Augustus’ own recollections.

A both beautiful, witty and funny use of words and rhymes in a quite multifaceted collection. Maybe it’s a bit too wide a range, but at least it’s tied together through the Romantic’s view on nature and death.

This one concludes the Emperor books and deals with the aftermath of Julius Caesar’s deaths and the consolidation of power in Augustus.
The story’s arc is slow and not that interesting, where both politics and battle are lukewarm.

The reflection of our own world through the lenses of a world only inhabited by women are mind opening. The inclinations when it came out a hundred years ago must have been monumental.
Presented as an adventure this is indeed a political-philosophical essay, dealing with manhood, womanhood and power.

Poetry that flows forward, touching at a lot of subjects, reflecting, commenting. Caribbean flavor at universal matters.

Too down to earth, domestic and without the usual adventures.

A new dark and gritty take on the famous creation of Batman. Realistic, disturbing and bold.

Mysterious connections, divinity, bloodlines, sacrifice and one’s own self form a rich and compact tale in the borderline between myth and reality.

The possibility of a good story are in there, but are treated with shallowness and flair.
