I think this book might be helpful to you if you struggle with drug or alcohol addiction (although the advice that 12 steps is good and don’t have your drug of choice in the house is pretty basic). For people struggling with compulsive behavior with other things that can’t be avoided, like food, sex, the internet, and video games, the author offers very little helpful advice. I also STRONGLY recommend avoiding this book if you struggle with self-injury, because the author almost encourages it? I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a very baseline exploration of how addiction works.

A very fun collection of festive mysteries. As a big fan of this bookstore, I love how the stories all take place there or incorporate the store in some way. This is the perfect holiday read for a mystery lover.

Hannah, the protagonist, is genuinely one of the worst characters I have ever read in a book. She is a nightmare romantic partner and a terrible friend. Being inside her head and hearing how narcissistic and childish she was kind of ruined the reading experience for me. Luckily, Finn’s POV and the entertaining plot was able to salvage it. But overall I was seriously rooting for her boyfriend and friends to cut her and her drama out of their lives. 2.5 stars for the cute holiday vibes and found family.

Entertaining writing but the shoehorned political bits were really off putting.
