The Hours Have Lost Their Clock : The Politics of Nostalgia by Grafton Tanner
3.5
Interesting, well written, and packed with fascinating sources, but the book really lost me in the last chapter when the author just leans full tilt into his biases and conveniently ignores any evidence that contradict his left wing progressive beliefs.

Quite dated, but there are some genuinely good tips in here. I definitely recommend it for people looking to build up social skills.
Captivate: The Science of Succeeding with People by Vanessa Van Edwards

Love that this book has actionable steps/advice rather than the usual platitudes of pop science books like this. That being said, it does rely on psychological pseudoscience to back up its conclusions. It's okay to give social skills advice without claiming that it's scientifically proven.
