well certainly don't get attached to any character if you plan on reading this lol

this took me a while to get into, and I feel like if I hadn't read the synopsis I wouldn't really know what was happening. once I got into it, though, I was having a good time.

though one thing I just cannot get over is how quickly the relationships developed. it really felt like one page two characters will have just met and within twenty pages they're acting like they would literally take a bullet for each other. I think I'm supposed to imagine that time has passed within those twenty pages, but that was never clear. this is why I bumped it down from a 4 star to a 3.5

I read The It Girl last year and absolutely hated it, so I really wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this one. Surprisingly, I actually really liked it. I didn't see the ending AND it made sense which is more than I can ask for a lot of thrillers.

HELL YEAH

look. if you're wanting a well-written fantasy with good world building and an original plot, go read The Poppy War or something. if you're looking for a good ass time with a cheesy romance and DRAGONS then you're gonna have a good time. and guess which one I was looking for baby

this was so cute! the fake dating part did not come in for a third of the book, and then it didn't really last very long, but their relationship was adorable and the book made me crave sweets

y'alllll this was so good. tysm to the Sugar & Spice Book Club for bringing this to my attention because I don't think I ever would have read it without this being the August pick.

Adam and Sage are so cute and sexy together omg. do I think they will last in the long run? mmmm probably not. but I'm not too worried about that because they're so good for each other for now.
