this one was definitely better than the first volume! the characters seemed more developed and the story is progressing nicely

the cozy feeling you get while reading about these characters never ceases to bring me joy. there were just so many times where I smiled with teeth because of these cute little fictional people. especially those that are not human? the best.

I used to love the anime so when I found the first volume at a used bookstore I had to pick it up. I know I love this series, but as a first volume this just doesn't give you much. I probably wouldn't pick up the rest of the series if this is all I had to go off of. kind of obsessed with the "I'm not wireless in this day and age?" line but other than that it was just kind of mediocre

this was so fun omg. it's obviously not a serious thriller, and the author/main character spoils things all the time, but this is a fun time. especially for a story so complicated, the way the main character tells it makes it so easily digestible. best for binging, I definitely recommend this for a snowy weekend

sometimes you just know. this writing immediately just wasn't for me. everything was so over described to the point. like why is half a page dedicated to what this girl looks like? and I read some reviews and they said it was more about the characters' relationships than the horror...... BORING!!!

the way I ate this up..... like I didn't even really have plans of reading this much yesterday but I binged this after I had already finished something else.

now before we get into this, the main character is awful. terrible. while she didn't deserve everything that happened to her because that's a lot, she definitely deserved some of it. but it's a horror book. the horror genre often features unlikable characters it's just how it is.

it's definitely less haunted house spooky than it is psychological, but there is definitely some haunted house spooky along with it.

if you think you might like this and don't mind an unlikeable character, definitely pick this up

this!!! this is so good!! I absolutely love the fast paced thrillery part of this book so much. incredibly action packed.

what I also love are the way these characters are written. these characters' motivations never falter, and it is clear in every action they take that they have their motivations in mind. while it may seem like we might be going in circles some, it just goes to show that these characters are strong willed. without giving too much away, just know that Adina is such a strong character and is never swayed by shallow promises. she doesn't take the easy way out and she is going to show how much she earned her place.

the way I didn't know what was going on. then I gave up and just tried to read it for the romance.... girl.

so first about me not knowing what the hell was happening. we looooove a spin off STAND ALONE series that doesn't world build! I'm not reading that old ass series! you have to tell me what is happening now. new series new world building. it took until I found another review to figure out the king and the queen each character kept boasting were from different kingdoms.

anyway this romance? awful. neither character had a personality and I could never tell which character I was reading from Kaz would be referring to Jase as the thief which just made me think I was in Jase's POV bc I've only seen one of these two characters thieving.

and how is this going to be a 500 page book one and they get together 20% in?

moral of the story don't trust booktok's fantasy recs and don't read this if you haven't read the first series

the cozy seaside bookstore vibes are immaculate.

I think I do prefer Legends & Lattes, maybe partially because I prefer cozy cafe settings as an unpopular reader opinion.

omw to reread L&L rn
