this was so cute!! such a perfect fluffy read. the relationship was super cute, and the atmosphere was perfect! so many of these types of books are slacking on the actual setting but not this one! It seems like Hill is mainly writing reality show type books and now that I know she can write them well I will be back!

there really is something about fake dating romances in that 2019-2021 range. there's something special about them fr

this is such a perfect readathon book. I definitely feel like this is a book best enjoyed in one sitting, and it is so fast paced that it's not a hard feat. it's creepy and so full of this haunted house you don't get to catch your breath. this is not a slow burn, so read this if you're wanting something creepy and quick!

I knew I needed to read this while still reading Lovelight Farms because I just need more romances with central cats! and yes, the cats are central. this second chance romance was so sweet and seeing the characters find themselves along with each other was so heartwarming.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.
imagine you're me. you book an Indiana Jones themed AirBNB. you go through your tbr to see what books to bring. you find an Indiana Jones inspired adventure romance. the setting is right, the mindset is right, everything is right. and then it's bad???

yeah this hurt. there was nothing right about this imo sorry. Corrie was the most annoying girlboss full of herself and weaponing her sexuality. listen I'm all for women acknowledging their accomplishments and knowing they're hot af, but not like this. you can't be all that AND annoying. literally couldn't stand her.

I already forgot his name. Ford? bc Harrison Ford? that's his name now if it wasn't already. anyway he is BLONDE. dye your hair dark like a man!!! also the way he purposely used his privilege to screw her over regularly was insane actually. I am meant to root for this guy? hello I am throwing you to the wildlife colonizer!

the most egregious part (well besides the whole Ford thing) was the fact that these characters had 0 chemistry. they were just horny. the only thing these two characters could even think about when it came to each other was their physical looks. neither of them respected the other even remotely, and neither of them could name one (1) personality trait about the other.

also this book, this 340 page romance book, was sooooo slow. it was such a slog to get through less than 100 pages. definitely not this action book I was promised!!

this wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything mind blowing. it was a good fun time, but it wasn't actually good, you know?

it was one of the most unoriginal stories I've ever read tbh. I guessed the entire book within the first 100 pages. I mean I'm pretty sure I know what's going to happen in the entire series, but only time will tell about that one.

absolutely insane take, but there was too much angst. too much angst with 0 payoff. it was all too heavy handed for it to be good, and after a while it got really old. and I mean it happens every single interaction between the two. all of them. I cannot think of one interaction where the banter didn't happen.

also I'm getting real fed up with these YA books ending scenes mid chapter and time skipping the next chapter with a recap of what would have happened. like sure, the book was long as hell for no reason but I would have preferred it be longer and actually show me the scenes rather than "it's been three days since that battle. after Paedyn did this..."

I mean I'm sure I'll read the next one, but I'm in no rush.

(side note I HATE the name Paedyn my god it is bad)

this is exactly everything that I wanted it to be. first of all, he falls first and he falls hard and he couldn't stand to not be touching her. then there's all the amazing characters that I cannot wait to explore in the next two books.

I mean the steam was steaming but I think at this point I was just bored of the plot. it was similar enough to the first one and I just didn't care as much tbh

sapphic rivals to lovers is actually peak don't @ me

but slow burn my ass. I mean it's a 330 page stand alone so adjust your expectations... but no seriously they get together halfway through

seriously though this book is amazing and I recommend it for literally everyone. it's got grumpy sunshine. it's got a baddie with a motorbike (stream Motorbike by Poppy). it's got YEARNING! had me kicking my feet from the beginning fr
