I’m not entirely sure what is going on here and I’m not sure that it’s just a “me” problem. Reading the synopsis of it book has done more for me understanding the plot than reading the actual book did. 

I feel like this series leans more toward the juvenile/middle grade end of YA - the name of the week groups and the main character being named Winnie Wednesday definitely feels middle grade. 

Overall the first book was alright with the trials being a great plot for action. But this sequel just isn’t holding my interest enough to continue.

Super adorable. I ate this up and my teenager self would have done the same!

Ok just found out that this lady has been claiming indigenous heritage and has been found to be a fraud. 

I don’t know why, I am just not vibing with this story. DNF @ 22%

I am obsessed with this book and dying to read the next one!!!

This is feeling really slow and kind of weird and I can’t believe that oraya was so mad at raihn for killing her dad because he was a lying, homicidal, batty-pants and barely even loved her. Like Stockholm-syndrome much? 

Also, isn’t the obvious thing for them to rule the kingdom together and both be heirs?
