I realized about 2 hours ago that this book is way too long and I still have 3 hours to go.

Things I liked: he falls first, hot hockey jock, tough FMC with walls that come down.
Things I didn’t like: length of the book, daddy issues that seemed kind of immature/unreasonable, we should see other people.

I resonate with many of the experiences and themes of this book, but even though so much of it feels familiar—I can’t keep reading because of the writing style and format.

The many short stories feel kind of poetic by the way they’re broken up and their prose, but it doesn’t seem to flow very well and I feel like it should given the genre.

I love the idea. Loved hearing Cait West speak at an event detailing her experience but I’m DNFing at 26%.

Not feeling this atm. Dark and purple prose seems a little heavy handed and also bleeding magic seems weird. Might revisit when I can read the audio to see if I feel differently.

This story is not giving me enough to want to finish. And I’m finally at the part where things are starting to be revealed but I am too weirded out by the prospect of the killer being an owl?

I am not a fan of the narration for this story either. Pauses in weird spots and weird choices for inflections and emphasis.
