Captivating story that blends Lebanese history and Phoenician mythology. I loved the plot even though it took me a bit to get into it.

Initially, I didn’t like it because I felt like I had to work really hard to piece the disparate storylines together. However, once certain events happened, and I started seeing the connections, I liked it sooo much more. I wasn’t particularly fond of the ending, but I get why the author ended it that way. All in all, I recommend it to scifi readers who enjoy a convoluted storyline that finds its way as the story continues.

I really liked the premise of the book even the creepy crawly horror stuff. I thought the characterization was lacking, and the consistent use of similes (some that didn’t make much sense) took away from the story. Overall, I know there are several people who will like this story, but I think there are many who will want a bit more from it.

I’m not a fan of horror, but I really liked this one. I wanted a little more from the ending, but I like how it ended simultaneously, so this is really a 4.5 for me.
