Everything's Eventual by Stephen King
3.0
While not his strongest overall collection of short fiction, for King fan, there's still plenty to be found here that make the volume worth reading.
Labyrinth by Kate Mosse
2.0
While incredibly well researched and technically well written, and boasting nearly 700pages in which to ensnare its reader, this book ultimately fell flat for me. The reader is treated to a flood of names and locations and complicated historical information specific to the south of France in the thirteenth century; and no intense or climactic action or conflict before the final 40-odd pages. Very tedious. A tidy, sweet final chapter wasn't enough to redeem the bulk of the novel.
The Winter Ghosts by Kate Mosse
4.0
If you're a fan of the classic ghost story genre and formula, you'll appreciate this tale. I read it in one setting, which complemented the flow of the story perfectly. As it is not too long a book, I recommend clearing your schedule enough to do the same.
If you've read any of Mosse's other work, you won't be surprised by the location or historical context of the story.

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson

Funny, charming and definitively Swedish.
Witch Child by Celia Rees
3.0
A decent story depicting a young woman's life in the madness of the Puritanical witchhunting rage of the late 1600's. Great starter for a younger reader interested in the time period. A nod to pieces like Miller's 'The Crucible', but with a sympathetic young protagonist a younger reader will empathise with.
Fables, Vol. 11: War and Pieces by Bill Willingham

And just like that, the war is over. Loved it, especially the Cinderella section.
Things We Set On Fire by Deborah Reed

The last odd quarter of this book ruined whatever qualities and elements I had enjoyed previously. Oddly disjointed and very unfulfilled feeling at the conclusion of the story.
