The main content warning I would like to add is that this book is a huge waste of time.

Edit:
Changed from 0.5 stars to 0.25 after putting more thought into the book.
To paraphrase another review, I'm getting tired of books with awful mental illness representation being marketed as psychological thrillers. The "twist" was the most unoriginal garbage I've ever had the displeasure of reading. I no longer will be taking recommendations from people that have liked this book. Mental illness is not a plot device, Iain.

Not really my style, I might have liked this more if I watched more of the movies the poems were based off of.

If I were to quote the poems I highlighted in this book, I would run out of characters to write this review. The recurring themes reflecting the lack of effort in finding justice for missing women. The idea that someone knows what happened, that parents died not knowing what happened to their daughters. This review is a mess. This book was heavy and there is a lot to process.

Any words I can find to describe this book would be an understatement. To put it simply, this was a beautiful and emotional book that reminded me why I love historical fantasy.
I found the plot endearing. It could be considered predictable, but I think the best written stories are where you know inevitably what will happen, but watch it play out anyways.
