Just finished the book. Staring at my kindle in quiet shock. So many twists and turns while still being a deeply emotional story. Samantha felt so real and relatable that even as she fucked up, evidently made the worst choices ever, I couldn’t help but root for her and cry with her when things went south. In these types of books it's so easy to write a main character that is snotty and uninteresting because of their outside-ness but Mona made Samantha's head a warm and welcoming place to be in - she is every single one of us who ever had the misfortune of having to work with rich people, and she doesn't blame herself for feeling justified resentment at the bullshit around her.

Also Ava and Samantha had more chemistry than half of the famous gay relationships that are lauded about as the hottest thing in every single social media app. I'm gonna go cry in a fetal position now, BYE.

A mixed bag of great, okay and mediocre short stories. Sometimes the stories hit the mark and sometimes they don't, but the author at least tries to bring something new with each story... most of the time, that is. Goodbye, My Love was boring, had an overplayed plot and a narrator devoid of any life or charm.

Reunion was incredible, and definitely the best way to end this collection, despite being the most normal of the stories.

Best stories: The Embodiment, Cursed Bunny, The Frozen Finger (the only one genuinely creepy), Home Sweet Home and Reunion (so so sad!!)

Worst stories: Goodbye, My Love (it's been so overdone 😴) and The Head (the ending ruined it for me)

The rest is either okay or just not worth mentioning.
