This was a great twist to the movie The Holiday. I enjoyed following Bee and Clover’s adventures in their swapped cities and it was kinda sweet that they found love in a weird way. I also really enjoy that although Clover and Knox are ex-fiancés, they’re able to be friends in the end since they were friends longer than they were together anyway. Bee and Knox along with Clover and Beth felt like good matches for each other. I also loved that half of the book was based in Ohio (since I live in and am from Ohio).

This is also good for anyone that enjoys two storylines and little to no spice.

I… don’t know how to rate this. I love Ashley’s writing and love her characters. I even loved this story. But I’m conflicted about Charlotte and Brighton ending up together again. I almost feel like they could’ve just come back together as friends instead. Idk, I keep going back and forth on it. But still a good christmassy book for this time of year.

EDIT it’s been a month and now I’m like mmm no they shouldn’t be together or be friends LMAO. And honestly — dropping to 2.75 stars.

This book was easily a 5-star read. Thank you so much to Darcy Liao for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I knew I was going to love this book based on the cover alone (GORGEOUS) then I read the synopsis and WOW. Darcy said this book is FOR YOU. Trans main character (Mira) who’s a grad student studying Classics and labor organizing? I’m in love. I love women. And of course, Isabel. The butch lesbian of my dreams. A blue-collar worker?? HOT.

Anyway, if you like WLW, labor organizing, “and they were roommates” vibes, you have to read this book immediately if not sooner.

Please note that this book deals with grief, the loss of a sibling, and an abusive ex-boyfriend. Take care of yourselves.

I just love this series so much. Call me naive but I never know who the killer is until the very end, and I love it! This focused more on Adeena and Elena than past books, which I loved as well. Mia does such a great job at incorporating queer characters.

Honestly I’m just bored and am finding myself not wanting to go back to reading this 🥲

EDIT I came back and it was fine. I wasn’t rooting for the two main characters to get back together. Tbh I did not care if they did or not. BUT I loved all of the side characters and their own little quests/side stories. Those really redeemed the book for me.
