Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross

I would describe this as "good, but not as good as the first one". The war continues, Iris and Roman are on different sides but must find their ways back to each other, we see Iris's brother a bit, etc.
I admit the ending hurt, in several ways. I knew it wasn't realistic for everyone to survive the war, but still. And Dacre isn't the only one committing war crimes.

Modern Hades and Persephone in a world where the gods run nightclubs, and Persephone is a journalist. There were a couple of interesting ideas, like the gods having horns, but overall it was kind of cliché and I was often bored. Just didn't have the spark for me. Also, maybe I have different standards, but it's interesting what a wide range of books are categorized as "dark romance". For me this was like, barely dark.

This is just kind of sad tbh. The "monster" is a child and she's right that children should be taken care of, and the heroes just go into her home and attack her without serious provocation.

A long book which really had its highs and lows for me. Getting through the first chapter was hard. Then things picked up and I enjoyed the next few hundred pages. Then the last 200 again passed pretty slowly and I was just wondering how there's still so much left. Overall, I liked it, but not an instant favorite.

An Appreciation Of Cats: A Devonshire Clinic Novella by Des DeVivo

Cute, but very lowkey. I felt like I didn't have enough time or reason to get attached to the characters, but it's a sweet story. I wouldn't call it fluffy, since it does feature a (potential?) cancer diagnosis and failing health.
Also, I'm very disappointed to say that it doesn't really have cats. (A few appear, since the story is about a vet, but none are really significant.)

Everyone in this book annoyed me, but I forgive them because they're teenagers.

I love Connor, he's great. Sort of didn't love how the mystery of the money was dragged out for the whole book, it was annoying me by the end, and he really should have asked for help sooner. Still a cute fake date story though, and it was great to see him grown up.

Absolutely perfect. The set-up for the fake dating is just so so wild and exaggerated, which is the best kind for a romcom. Also Connor is a little shit, but also a traumatized little shit, and I love him. It's gonna be so weird to see him as an adult in the next book.
The only thing I didn't like was Logan equating having a small penis with being a bad person, which didn't really get addressed later after his character development either.
