This book was everything I wanted and more! I’m so mad it took me so long to read it, but I know it will be reread soon!

Listened to this on audio and I enjoyed it! I do think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I had read it instead of listened to it though. Sometimes they talked to fast and I lost track on what was happening haha

But overall I did enjoy this one a lot! I got so invested in all the interconnections between characters and seeing how everything played out in the end!

I REALLY enjoyed this one! I loved all the characters and all the different connections we got to see between the characters. I liked how it switched perspectives half way through as well, giving us the chance to see both boys perspectives!

Okay I have THOUGHTS. First I found the setting of this book laughable as someone who grew up in PWC. Nothing about the setting was accurate and made many parts of this book unbelievable. I think the author must have just looked up “lakes in VA close to DC” and picked one without doing much other research.

Speaking of research that wasn’t done, I think this author hasn’t done much research into the criminal justice system because there is SO MUCH that happens that is just downright idiotic that it’s hard to keep up with.

The characters were so dramatic for no reason as well? I’m not sure if it was just the audiobook narrators’ who captured the book this way or if it was actually written this way. It was so overdramatized though that it was laughable at points.

This all being said though the book did keep my attention so I guess that’s a win? This book is probably a low three but it’s so low I feel like I can’t actually give it 3 stars.

I had such high hopes for this one and they unfortunately were not met. I didn’t dislike the book, but it just didn’t live up to everything it had the potential to be. It was definitely gory and suspenseful, but not as much as it could have been.

Absolutely loved this book! The characters were great, the story was great, and I just felt so warm/cozy while listening to it. The book also had some great humor throughout as well!

This book was ADORABLE. I absolutely loved it! I think I’ve decided that Hibbert can do no wrong when it comes to writing romances!

Quick and easy to read, but sometimes it seemed to jump all over the place. Overall a good read though!
