5 million bazillion stars. The perfect ending to the first arc of this series. So satisfying, unexpected, mind-blowing. Ilysm Brandon Sanderson.

Good lord, this book was so awful. I regret giving this author another chance after the deeply hot mess of transphobia that was Hidden Pictures.

I am BEGGING this author to
- stop making all his female characters either ditzy idiots or manipulative psychopaths
- stop describing and objectifying the body and figure of every female character who’s introduced
- stop using chronic illnesses as a plot point to add elements of horror to the plot
- use disadvantaged children as a trivial plot point

And for the love of god PLEASE hire a narrator who doesn’t do a Dutch accent as a Swedish accent.
The Christmas You Found Me by Sarah Morgenthaler

Did not finish book. Stopped at 69%.
I absolutely adored Sarah Morgenthaler's last series for how goofy and cute it was. This one threw me off - it was so serious and heavy, bordering on too pious and self-congratulatory. It felt really weird how the dad with the sick kid kept being portrayed as an absolute martyr. The unexpected religious discussions and mentions of God also totally threw me off.

I know a lot of people LOVE Shakespeare retellings, but I need to give up on them. They just remind me of university, and I've never been able to enjoy one. Sorry Ava, still love you!!

I had such high hopes for this book, but the narration style really wasn't for me. I wasn't really into all the astrology tangents, and the stream of consciousness style didn't work for me.

This was so mysterious and creepy and exactly what I was hoping it would be. I just wish the very ending would've been 20-30 pages longer so there was more time to go into that final reveal.
