I missed getting lost in a book and how it feels. Because my last read made me want to stab myself at times but I also had to know what was happening so I could not DNF it. But this was really nice. The story didn't take forever to start and even then there was such an exciting plot that I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to know what she was planning to do, and how she would help her mother, help Dominic, and even Will.
I do wish we got a little bit more of the alchemy and how it works. As each version has its own way alchemy works. I wanted to know more about how it works. I'm also curious what it really means to be the last alchemist, does that mean by destroying the stone alchemy doesn't exist, but also what keeps someone else from making a stone? As it wasn't made before? so could someone still technically make it? I HAVE TO MANY QUESITONS
ALSO DOMINIC! HE HAS MY HEART HE DESERVES ONLY THE BEST AND I WILL BE WILLING TO DIE ON THAT HILL will can die, i was right from the beginning

For the first 77% of this book, i could have cared less about it, I didn't care enough about Isoka BUT THEN THOSE LAST 100 PAGES GOT ME, AND LIKE DAMN. I was not ready to care and be so invested by the end and i read through those last 100 pages so fast compared to the rest of the book. I really liked that we got to learn more about the ship and the way it works AND HAVE PROPER REASONING FOR ISOKAS DECISIONS ASIDE FROM WHO SHE WANTS TO GET INTO BED WITH. UGH LIKE GIRL YOUR LIFE IS ON THE LINE STOP.
I think Isoka as a main was my biggest struggle. I felt no connection to her, I didn't understand her motivation. Yes, we know this was for her sister but at the same time, we didn't get enough behind that reasoning to support it. I get she wanted to protect her sister, yes that's the end goal, but her current goals to get there seemed to have gotten lost. It seemed as if all she could think about is who she wanted to get in bed with and then the next thing I knew we were fighting giant crabs. ALSO WHY JUST CRABS?! THE SEA IS FILLED WITH CREATURES WHY ARE WE JUST HAVING CRABS SHOW UP?? SOMEONE EXPLAIN.
I also cared more for the side characters than Isoka. Like I wanted to know more about Zarun and Aifin, I wanted to know more about them and everything. AND BOTH OF THEM HAD MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND JUST MORE REASON/SO MUCH MORE DIMENSION THAT ISOKA FOR ME.
I did enjoy it and am tempted to read the rest of the series which just annoys me because i feel like I will be just as annoyed throughout that as I was here BUT I'M INTRIGUED AND UGH.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this. I loved the premise of the book but at the same time it seemed to have a slow start and then everything happened so quickly. I did enjoy it though, once I got to the exciting part past the first 50 pages I was intrigued and I was so curious about it, but then everything wrapped up so quickly.
I also wanted to know more about Elphie and Alfred, like those side characters made me so happy and I wanted more of them. But it seemed like they were just thrown in there so Vi doesn't have to face it all alone but even then they didn't have a reason to exist, they could have not been there and it made no difference at all. It was a great story but also nothing that really made it stand out

I absolutely loved this so much. Any story with gods is always a win in my book and this is no different. I loved this so much and I want more. I want to learn more about the relics, I want to know more about how they got lost, and so much more. I seriously kept putting off finishing this because of that. I didn't want to leave that world.
I loved all the characters and their dynamics for sure. I do wish we had more Hal and Xander. I want a prequel about them and their dynamic, a sequel, and just more. Though I also want more about Damon's and Eva's dynamic. They were so great and I wanted more. This world was beautiful. Ross has such a great grasp on world-building.
It also makes me want to reread the Queen's Rising because I remember feeling very iffy about it, I do remember it was heavily due to the age gap but I did love the world and everything. Honestly, i loved all the stories and I just get so happy with them all.
