Not as predictable as I first thought it would be. A little steamy, a little seductive and a little action (in more ways than one). I thought the structure of the book was a little weak but the overall read was good.
Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo

This book has circulated though the majority of my family. I was excited to read it and was astounded by what an impact it had on me. The simple writing and childlike descriptions provided though the book truly take you to a place that few books can take you...back to a childhood innocence and view of the world. Colton Burpo and his accounts of going to heaven and meeting God give readers a stronger hold on faith. The book made me laugh and made me cry. But ultimately it made me realize what was important in my life and how I could better strengthen my own faith.

This book was lackluster and slightly expected. I was able to get it through the Barnes and Noble free section for the Nook Books so it was worth what I didn't pay for it. It was a good read, very easy, but it left me wanting more from the characters and Huffman. I enjoyed reading Throwaway but I still wish that it would have hit me a little harder on the emotional end. Overall a great read but a little disappointing.

I was required to read this book for one of my classes. When I started reading I feared that I wasn't going to be able to enjoy the book strictly because of the format, I'm not a huge fan of the multiple letters to multiple people approach. However, as the book when on and I delved deeper into the heart of the plot I grew entangled in what was happening to poor Ella and her island. This book had me laughing, tearing up, completely confused and exceptionally elated. I read it in a short time (2hrs) which allowed for the letters to flow. I'm glad I purchased this book and will be adding it to my bookshelf with a smile. I would recommend, as I did, that you try to read it in a little sessions as possible, the ending gets a little complicated as the plot thickens. Overall a very enjoyable book!
