Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

As someone who loved the 2019nmovie, I was excited to pick up the book. Turns out, it was a disaster (shocking, I know!). Part one of Little Women is basically about the mundane lives of four sisters with nothing going on but their incessant rambling. It gave me such a headache that I dragged through a slump for 12 days, right after I was on a reading spree. I will never forgive Alcott for putting me through a reading slump and am shocked that her novel became a classic (damn, the woman got lucky). I am truly disappointed and will not be continuing part 2 even though the movie is primarily based on it. I can not afford to slump harder, especially since I am behind in my reading goal this year.

A 2.5 ⭐️ rating but round it up to 3

not so patiently waiting for the third book!

I got a copy of Once Upon A Broken Heart for my 18th birthday and kept putting it off because I am too impatient (and eager) to wait for other books in a series. So when Ballad came out, I was excited to finally get into this world, and I didn't realise that there was a third installment set to release this year until after I was mid-way on this book!

Initially disappointed but eager for book 3, nonetheless! September cannot come any slower
