Ok so I loved her Record Shop Mysteries series.  And I LOVE this book too.  I am super excited for there to be more books for Ruby and Cordelia.  I think Black’s writing is phenomenal, she really draws me into her stories.  I almost read this in one day, stupid parenting duties interfering with my reading.  😂.

I couldn’t stop thinking about this book. Life kept getting in the way of me, finishing it and let me tell you I felt dome of Dani’s rage over that.
This was a beautifully written story with characters that made you love them, and even when you hated them, you still loved them.

This was such a fun book!!!  I loved the characters Brick and Aspen stole my heart.  I also love that Jennifer poked fun at romance tropes a little.  The spice was delicious!  I can’t wait to read the next book and return to the characters.

This was a warm and fuzzy read. I liked the character’s although Lexie’s anti-commitment issues drove me crazy.  Why did nobody call her on it?!?  The premise of R&L was fun.  But I think I would have liked for there to be more Rachel moments and had that relationship explored more.  Or a climax moment with Jody and Lexie!!!

I feel like this was a little all over the place.  The ghost with the romance felt chaotic.  I like the idea behind it, but there were parts that seemed stilted. It felt like it was too fast paced and neither the ghost story or the romance was fully fleshed out.  I sometimes caught myself going wait did I miss a step?
Then it felt like the fact the characters were indigenous was really emphasized.  And I get that is an unappreciated writer population.  But instead of focusing on Native characteristics or cultural references to remind the reader of the indigenous characters, it was just stated repeatedly.  I think the idea was good, it just could have been finessed some on the delivery, for me at least.
The characters themselves were ok, none of them were particularly likable. Probably the mist likable to me was Neil and it was still only lukewarm.
So why did I give the 3 stars?  The setting was amazing, and there were parts that were beautiful written.  I also thought a lot about the mystery when not reading.  I was a little disappointed in the ending mystery wise, but it fit the romance genre ending sooo…I think that if this had been one or the other (preferably ghost story) I would have liked it better.  I wanted the blended genres to work for me, but it was only so so.

This was a super cute book. I really enjoyed the characters. The setting took me a little bit to figure out, but I think it’s in Scotland since the author is Scottish I could be wrong.  It was a very sweet love story, although the family treatment of Jasper really drove me crazy.  I know some reviews are upset with the resolution of the family and Jasper, but coming from a broken family myself. I understand the way those could be seen as all olive branches and accepted.  I really enjoyed this. It brought me out of a little bit of a reading slump. It was super cute and fun.

I’m not sure what I expected from this book. But it was wonderful. The end they made me sad. I actually looked up the history and had hoped things would go differently. But the writing was beautiful and kept me engaged.  Overall, this was a great book.

I loved the idea behind the book, but it was awful. I just could not get into it and it just felt like a hot mess. I really wanted to like it I did and I kept trying. In fact I finished it and I feel like I wasted a week of my life on this book.
