The book isn’t bad, but I put it down 10 days ago and have no urge to even think about it, let alone keep reading it. It may be nice as an audiobook for a road trip or in some other situation where you can’t really do much of anything for 8 hours.

Repetitive and underwhelming. I enjoyed Penpal, Bad Man, and other No Sleep authors, so this was a bit of a disappointment.

I’m sorry, but the reason the protagonist goes to her boyfriend’s house, AFTER she escapes, is asinine. If she thought the murder was a prank, no need to get the ice cream cake. Block his number and move on. If she thought the murder was real, call the police, won’t matter if you left an ice cream cake in his fridge. There is absolutely no outcome where sneaking back into his apartment makes sense.
After I’d read that choice from the main character, I just had to put the book down.

An intriguing little “novelette” as Marceau calls it. The length to explore was well matched to how much there was to explore in the narrative.

Some of the shot stories were good, but most of them so far haven’t held my interest

This book gave me some very genuine chills, but didn’t quite stick the landing. I don’t think an author needs to reveal everything to their readers,  but I prefer when it feels as if the author isn’t disclosing something on purpose rather than when it feels like they simply didn’t flesh out part of the world/lore/big bad/etc.
