Hannibal by Thomas Harris
2.0
I might be a decade late to the hypetastic party surrounding this novel, but my enjoyment of it was short-lived. When I read Silence of the Lambs several months ago, I was pleased to find a book 1.)by a man 2.)with a female protagonist 3.)who transcends adversity 4.)all while leaving room for a sequel. I couldn't wait to get my hands on Hannibal.
By the end of Hannibal's time in Italy, I was all but snoring. Because I value the two main characters and Ardelia Mapp over all others, everything which led to that grotesque incident at the Palazzo Vecchio seemed to be terribly drawn out, the incident itself being cheap overcompensation for boring me to death.
The same goes for our stay at Muskrat Farm.
