Letters from Cuba and Other Plays by Maria Irene Fornes

A well-arranged collection. Good post-"Fefu" extended introduction to her work.
The L Word by Margaret T. McFadden
4.0
A solid guide to the things The L Word got right. After years of reading critique, McFadden's work actually made me stop to reconsider this television program's genius, from the infinite cinema history references, to male gaze dismissal, to the the way the show sassily responded to its own viewership's criticism. If you want to justify your Nth L Word screening with queer theory, this text is an great start.
The only thing I disagree with is the concluding notion that this show trumped stereotype and homophobia. While that's true to an extent, I don't believe that the stereotypes are now obsolete; they've merely mutated.
