Ultimately nothing new on the “girl sent to assassinate guy but falls in love with him instead.” Some commentary on Mera taking control of her life & future. Not much development of Arthur, beyond Good Guy, or their relationship. Not much development on the front of Xebel & Atlantis beyond them agreeing to peace talks because of Mera & Arthur

Interesting concept but at the end it really beats you over the head with its message on straight allies, queer community, hiding/taking up space, guilt & responding to bigots who refuse to make even simple changes (ie refuse the vaccine then try to kill everyone)

Also have a moment of “oh we’re in the third act of a zombie movie something else terrible is gonna happen now that we’re in a safe haven.” But ends with the massive party in Palm Springs (they call it a queer utopia) feels kind of weird even if you’re trying to subvert the zombie movie trope & also talk more about queer community.

Also how does a vaccine even work in this case??? Like it’s a weird random phenomenon that happens for only 24 hrs. It’s not a disease
