This was my first Ruby Dixon book and it was delightful! I really love the magic and archeology elements of the book. Looking forward to book 2.

This romance set in a dystopian future is MT Anderson’s FEED meets a CW version of WESTWORLD. Teens just discovering The Uglies or who want light sci-fi with romance will find much to enjoy in Tew’s debut. Another Joy Revolution win!

This felt a little like the prequel to a historically-set version of the tv show Leverage. Cozy, queer, and bit spicy!

“When you sacrifice others’ children on the alter of your ambition, it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be willing to sacrifice your own.”

Tahir is a masterful storyteller and HEIR is a powerful example of how the best fantasy novels offer  literary escape while meaningfully illustrating essential truths about our own (very real) society and world.

A must read. It’s not necessary to read the Ember in the Ashes books first to dive into this one, but I bet you’ll want to read them while anxiously awaiting book two!

This book has all the best things about 90s teen romcoms - think She’s All That and 10 Things I Hate About You - plus a smart and funny MC to cheer for and social commentary modern teens will find refreshingly real. Highly recommend! #teamprh
