I liked this book but I also feel conflicted. I felt the romance aspect of the story was very rushed but the other parts of story was developed well.
I loved Spencer's relationship with his grandmother and his sisters but I wished there was more about his relationship with his parents. For Josie, I liked her personality but I wished she had more time to discover how to be more relaxed/carefree and also address some of emotions that rose up from her sister's accident.
Lastly, I really appreciated how the author addressed racism in this book. It was discussed in a way that was realistic but it wasn't hyperfocused/overemphasized throughout the book.

As a Haitian-American, I wasted no time in purchasing this book. I loved every aspect of it and it's awesome when you read books that you can genuinely relate to.
