I do love a good horror novella !! I've been searching for horror with a good amount of mycology after reading Mexican Gothic and this was perfect (+ Kingfisher acknowledging that she read the book while writing this made me scream.) The humour was a pleasant surprise too, I liked that Easton wasn't too serious like all Gothic lit protagonists are usually depicted. I feel like it did detract from the Gothic Atmosphere but I had so much fun reading I didn't mind <3

so fucking good my only complaint is that the ending should've been rounded out more but overall wow... setting this in 2000 was also such a great choice
