The books in this series definitely improve the further you go in. This one starts quick and never lets the pace go, the story is so captivating and the themes are somber and serious, yet still entertaining.

I have such a difficult relationship with this book and that’s why it probably took me this long to finish it, and the fact that it’s so popular I had to wait forever to get it again from the library and then finally resorted to buying it.
The part that I enjoyed I really love, the parts I don’t care for are still pretty ok. I do feel like it would be better if the characters were a little older, say in their early 20’s like they are in the show. I feel like then the story would be a little more believable (but we don’t come to fantasy for believable do we?

I think I have an odd relationship with Holly Black’s books, I love her writing and themes and worldbuilding, but I absolutely can’t stand the characters she choses to focus on. How out of such a rich and interesting world we get Jude and Cardan as our main characters? I can’t seriously… can I get this book from Vivi’s POV please and thank you.

Amazing! Truly, unbelievably amazing! I couldn’t put this book down and thought about it every moment I wasn’t reading. The mystery, the world building, the twists and turns! Like Harry Potter? Oh no, it’s so much better!
Also the performance by the actor who read the book was outstanding! I can’t wait for the sequel, thank goddess it’s coming out soon!
