This felt like it could have been combined into the last book, very much building, but not, on Knox and Shiloh's relationship as Knox is the last of the brothers to really confess his feelings for her, and even then he did but he didn't, he confessed but then nothing came of it because he decided to be standoffish for some reason, I don't think I understand the reason but I think it's because he is scared she isn't over her trauma when in reality the Stone brothers are helping her with it.
Also ending on yet another cliffhanger but also FUCKING ISABELLE IS DEAD?!?! Like stfu how are you going to kill Shiloh's only girlfriend?! Nah she better be alive by some miracle in the final book because then Shiloh has no one but the brothers which I hate in a book, when the FMC has no one outside her love interest(s) and (not in Shiloh case) family
Love love loves this one. The Edens is becoming one of my favourite books to read❤️
This book surprised me because I loved Harrison and Anne in the other books but like Jasper I saw the hoops and second guessing they made Eloise go through that Knox and Griffin didn’t have to. The Eloise Inn belonged to Eloise and it was sad that because of one mistake they held this over El’s head.
Plot wise I found this great and had butterflies every chapter🥹 I love me a fake dating/marriage trope because they always end up being all domestic when they don’t need to, like Jasper didn’t need to be kissing Eloise in the privacy of their home and cuddling in bed where but he did from day dot and I love that.
I do think a lot of conversations that needed to happen were ignored for later and it would’ve been good to see one of them on the page though.
This was an OK and easy book into Fae-based fantasay romances, the Silveri sisters relationship was great
The plot was very interesting too, seeing Alessia try to kind of bypass her fate of marriage and the reasoning she wants to and also seeing Massimo and her friendship developing alongside this. I wish the villagers distain for the Silveri family was explored more, like why were they so shunned? Why were they so hauty for a small unknown village, what was the previous count like before massimo, additionally I would've like more knowledge on Massimos family.
Second Hannah Bonam-Young Book and I loved it!! Bo is just pure golden retriever boyfriend and was written so well with depth and emotion I wasn't ready for l I don't know why the pregnancy trope (of any(ind) gets so much hate this book was the right amount of oh shit we preggo but shit happens let's do our best and banter both Bo and Fred had me cheesing up a storm all kicking & giggling
I was very glad there was no third-act breakup (or any sight of Cora and Jack -the exes- to make unnecessary conflict) sometimes a smooth ride is the best thing(always)
Sarah & Caleb and Bo's friends were great especially Sarah and how supportive and matter-of-fact she was with Fred all around good Banter between the characters.
can we talk about how much I love Fred as a nickname and am obsessed with August as their chosen baby name <3
My first supernatural (this counts as supernatural right?) romance and I enjoyed it. Joyce is so great as a character and I love that she was unapologetically herself even after dying.
Aiden was also an enjoyable character because I love a grump in a book the plot was an interesting premise and glad this was my first supernatural/ paranormal whatever romance, nothing was too complicated and I got the reaper system pretty quickly I do wish it was a little less predictable like Joey being the one who framed Aiden by messing with Edens system or Taevin being Joyce's dad but I wasn't mad at the predictability.
That being said as much as it was a fun read the romance was hardly, there we went from cant stand each other to enemies with benefits and literally after their first time together they were basically in love where is the wooing? the tension? the stakes?
also there is a sequal to this which I am not that interested in like yes their souls are tied together for eternity but do l really care? and also God coming in at the end to cleary be the bad guy in book two is not as gripping a premise as it should be...
This was painful to read. Christie is a very unlikable character and has this constant “woe is me” attitude, she is also so damn judgmental, Ash was on a call when they first met and she went full on “He hates me, he is such a spoiled brat he thinks I’m the shit on his shoe” and never really stopped thinking that way even when they were in a relationship, which by the way was built on nothing but close proximity and 0 emotion. Ash was also very lacking, if we’d gotten his pov about whats happening in his family and an emotional look at how it affects him maybe him latching onto Christie as a result maybe that would’ve made for a better story.
The relationship as a whole was rushed, they didn’t even really get to know each other much less be friends for a while before boom suddenly they got from not standing each other to liking each other? in mere days, this story definitely happened in under a few weeks which makes it worse because so much happened in those days that seems unrealistic
It had so much potential both characters relationship with religion and sex is a good plot to explore but that ending pissed me the fuck off.
Poppy not speaking to Tyler about her concerns regarding his priesthood (idk the name) and their own relationship and then proceeding to cheat (yes she kissed another man whilst being with Tyler and thats cheating) was so fucking dumb regardless of the intention behind the action! she literally could’ve hashed everything out with Tyler but chose to break his heart in that way for what? because he showed he wanted a relationship between them that wasn’t hidden? idk the logic behind her actions were stupid and I feel she should’ve grovelled hard because honestly wtf…
I’m not gonna lie, I was so confused throughout all of this book😂 So many reveals were done without much more explanation and in such quick succession I felt a bit dizzy, one minute we are at the coronation for Dominik as the prince of the brotherhood the next we are finding out all these bombshells at once and then back to the action with no in depth walkthroughs about wtf just happened 😅 I like the book just wish there was more time on that.
When I tell you I have never wanted a fictional man to be real so bad than I have with Rome! He rented a damn yacht for Janelle just so she can read on the water!! and made sure she could swim with sea turtles when it wasn’t part of the itinerary but she wanted it All book boyfriends will forever pale in comparison to Rome Martin!
I really loved reading a book that had representation of a friendship group, often times the fmc seems to only have one friend or she gains a friend once she starts dating the mmc so it was refreshing that Janelle had an established and present friendship group. Evie is the best and I hope each girl gets a book (not you Amerie)
Now, listen if Amerie has 100 haters I am one, if she only has one hater it’s me, if she has no haters i must be dead. This woman raised such a visceral reaction in me, her and her mother (I refuse to acknowledge them as Janelle’s family), such an insecure cow and to be that way to her YOUNGER sister left a bad taste in my mouth, Janelle is better than me because I would’ve kept my word and not attended that wedding because i’m petty as fuck and both Amerie and Arnold did so wrong by my girl Janelle😤 The reasons? Whack, the “apologies”? Whack
I am begging anyone who wants to read this to listen to it on Audio!!
Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton are amazing in this! I usually feel really disconnected when listening to Audio but Callie brought so much emotion to this and Teddy just had me feeling butterflies the whole way through when he spoke.
They also do the one thing I wish more audiobooks did, when its the mmc speaking the male voice actor actually speaks instead of just the female in a lower register.
On to the story, it was so beautiful, I never felt bored nor did I frel like something was missing. I love Jasmine as a character and her emotional growth, the vulnerability she learnt to show and how she handled it. Ivan is just so… words cannot describe it really but I love him, I love them together and I love them as individuals.
I wish there was so much more of Ivan with Jasmines family and vice werse (there was enough but I love when the families love the mmc/fmc so always want more scense)
