The writing of this series is young YA, but I found the writing really struggled to execute the plot in this book. There's a point at the start of this book where it seems the author has discovered a new word, uses it about 3 times in a 2 chapter span, and then forgets about it for the rest of the book. lol. Young readers would definitely enjoy, but it's not a series I'll rush back to or ever read again.

"Today I love you more than ever, tomorrow I will love you even more."
Much MUCH more of a slow burn than the movie, but still with all the same charm and romance

DNF: I can literally tell 80 pages in that this book is gonna give me a reading slump so goodbye!! I’m down to read more of Mary H. K. Choi, but from what I’ve read online, this is the least enjoyable of her books.

Adiba Jaigirdar could write me a to-do list and I’d give it 5 stars. I genuinely love everything she writes!!

I enjoyed the first story Widowers’ Houses, and then hated The Philanderer. It was so long and boring that I ended up skipping it a few pages into Act 2 which I’m glad I did because I LOVED Mrs Warren’s Profession! So good and crazy to think of the year it was written and how it was received
It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

Compared to the Hot & Hammered series this is actually amazing and I didn’t think Tessa could pull it off
