This is a layered love story that is heartbreaking and mending at the same time. It’s a romantic drama, not a Hallmark story. It deals with very real and painful themes.  I finished it in one night and I wish there was more to read about these characters who learned over time that we all deserve to live a life our dreams, no matter what we’ve been through in the past.

Despite a slow start, this story reeled me in. I was in tears by the end and I’m ultimately glad I didn’t give up on it. Set in 1950s Oklahoma, it’s a story of love, perseverance, and what happens when people trust themselves and their family with their darkest secrets.
