An absolute gem of a book! It was so fun looking at Tolkien's illustration process and how many of his works came to be.

The Tolkien Professor is truly an apt name for Corey Olsen. This book offers such useful insight into the characters and the themes of The Hobbit. Interesting to read this!

“My husband has no name; he is my husband, he belongs to me.”

Unhinged story about unhinged people. It started off interesting, but there were instances where I got bored of the repetitiveness of it all.

I liked the descriptions of everyday as a different emotion/colour and how the shades of each colour might change as the day goes on. The idea of an obsessive woman keeping notes and tracking everything about her husband was fascinating. That's why I am not sure how I feel about the epilogue.

But an interesting book nonetheless.

Tolstoy, oh you brilliant man!!

"Who is right and who is wrong? No one! But if you are alive—live: tomorrow you'll die as I might have died an hour ago. And is it worth tormenting oneself, when one has only a moment of life in comparison with eternity?”
