Book #78 of 2021.

I will buy a hard copy of this book because I know I will need to refer back to it.

The author guides us to practicing self-compassion and silencing the voice of your worst critic - yourself. She examines how to establish and maintain boundaries. She discusses the different attachment styles and how your attachment style impacts your relationships with other.  She explains how to work through strong emotions and not they stuck in them.   Very impactful!

This collection of short stories has inspired me to find more work from Ms. Evans. All of the stories are great, but my favorite has to be “Boys Go To Jupiter” or the title story.

Book #75 of 2021.

I’ll start by saying I did not like this one. The story and plot were very interesting - I just did not like the characters AT ALL!  They were vapid at best and cruel at the worst.

Florence is a low-level employee at a publishing house with dreams of being a famous writer.  She burns her bridges there and a plum job falls into her lap. She becomes the personal assistant of a very secretive author.  One so secretive that no one’s knows their real name or what they look like. She’s soon enamored of the author and agrees to go to Morocco with her to research the next novel.

All seems well until she wakes up in the hospital. She is told that she drove her car off a cliff and that she was alone. But where is her employer. What happens next is a twisty curvy who-done-it.

As I said, I liked the story fine but I wish the author had made one of the lead characters just a tiny bit likeable. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Book #74 of 2021.

Aelin’s saga continues. Aelin returns home only to be rejected. She continues to build her squad and carry out her plans. She knows who her real enemy is, she has funds and an army - what could go wrong?!?!

I love the way Aelin still manages to pull surprises out of thin air. I also love that she is never defeated, even when things don’t play out the way she wants/expects.

Book #73 of 2021.

The author focuses on using self-love to heal. Starting with body shame - you should appreciate your body for all that it allows you to do and all the places you can go everyday.

She does not stop there, though. Because once you learn to live and accept yourself, you should extend this to others. Stop the body shaming, racism, sexism, homophobia and all the other VIOLENT isms that plague us all today.

I really enjoyed this book and it made me reflect on how often my interactions with others fall so far short of sharing love.  This book was eye-opening.

This is book 4 of the Throne of Glass series. Calaena Sardothien has lost everyone she’s loved but refuses to lose herself. She steps into her true identity - Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen - and starts to reclaim her life, her people and her throne.  Of course, this is easier said than done. Aelin has many more obstacles to overcome, but she has true friends to help her now. Can she release enough of her past to accept it?

The youngest #Bridgerton sister finds her mate. This is the love story of Hyacinth and Gareth. I love the spirit of adventure that flows through this story.  I’m going to hate to reach the end of this series!

This is another #Bridgerton read!  This is the love story of Francesca and Michael.  The story was very engaging and I liked that we got to know Francesca better - she is barely mentioned in the other books.
