Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
5.0
***Spoilers Below***
Pride and Prejudice is by far the most adorable love story that I have ever read. Though there are multiple relationships within the book, Jane and Mr. Bingley, Miss Lucas and Mr. Collins, Lydia and Mr. Whickham, Lizzie and Mr. Darcey's is the main story. What I enjoyed most about their love was that it wasn't instant. It wasn't like they walked into a room and it was love at first site! He tolerated her, she couldn't stand him, and by the end they are in love. I will say that I found Mrs. Bennett to be rather annoying. She is too eager to push her daughters on the first man with money that even looks any of their way. Throughout the story she comes across as hungry for the societal climb that having her daughters marry rich would give her family. I did love Mr. Bennett and his love for Lizzie though. Mr. Bennett is everything that you would want in a father.
This was my first time reading a book by Jane Austen, and I can't believe that I waited so long to read something by her after finishing this. I love the way that she writes and the language of the time. It was simply a beautiful story. I will definitely be reading more by Jane Austen in the future!
