Amazing page turner. I’ve just read 80% of this book in one day, I was unable to stop reading. The crime story is intricate, it’s very well written, I love the academia research project approach and just everything about Pip‘s scholarly, research-driven approach and her nerdy Hermione Granger like approach to everything, paired with great courage and a sense of justice. I’m afraid the Netflix adaptation has warbled that, but I’ll give it a try. Still, it can not be as good as this book. Also really liked the other characters like Ravi and her family and friends. Perfect book to get out of a reading slump!

Great summer read as it takes place before Lammas (1.August). Another love story but this time between Delilah and an outsider called Cat. The first half was a bit slow, but this series usually picks up from the middle on and she does write the most satisfying and wonderful endings, which I really appreciate. Def. a relaxing and whimsical read, although there are some dark elements, but nothing that the magical beauty of Thistle Grove can’t outbalance. It does go more into the towns origins which is interesting to find out.

Great read for all Hogwarts fans. So much great background info written as if it was a book you borrow out of Hogwarts library, but with comments from JK to the origin story. Enjoyed it a lot.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 39%.
I really tried to give this book a chance, but can’t keep forcing myself. Have to agree with many other reviews that the main theme of duty over heart gets wrung out and extended in a repetitive way too long. It feels like Groundhog Day reading this book.

It wasn’t as good as the first one, and some passages seemed needlessly stretched out, but it is still just such an enjoyable story with unique characters. Def an academia book, Emily is like a grown up Hermione granger. It plays in October in the Alps and is a great autumn book. I would not recommend the audio book! The speaker really overdoes the upper class British accent and makes Emily sound very whiney and anxious in an annoying way which is not how her character is written at all.

Utterly amazing read, seeped in Greek mythology but seen from the eyes of a female Goddess and witch who doesn't like her divinity. This will be a new all time favourite for me and go as a hard cover on the shelf of best books ever! Now I want to play Asassins Creed Greece again :-)

Really the four books could be one, but it's nice to have a shorter one sometimes. This is a fast easy and entertaining, relaxing read. Like the J R Ward of phantasy, or a phantasy sitcom in book form, but very relaxing and a nice break from deep and monumental.

It's an entertaining short read. If you want to read high magic or intricate worlds and many-layered stories, read Tolkien. I still enjoyed it for some relaxing reading that doesn't get boring and has the magical academia vibe and some good teenage love story.
