chapters 1-3 promised something amazing, but then all that followed was a pissy little romantic subplot which ended up dominating the entire novel, with weak characters, none of whom I felt any connection to whatsoever, and a watery chronology of events which turned out to not really lead anywhere.
it equal parts made me want to vomit and cry due to the complete disregard for any characterisation whatsoever.
