I have been going back and forth reading this book.
The first part I enjoyed but did not love. Parts 2-3 I found a little annoying, but the last two where incredible.
Everything from the last books started to get explained.
TenSoon has remained one of my favorite since book 2. Spook also is a fantastic character. Elend I like and think would have been a great ruler, but just is not the same person I loved in book 1. Vin I have felt the same about from the beginning. I enjoy her chapters but never really found her overly interesting. Finally the Lord Ruler. I got the impression he was not as bad as we thought during the second book but I did not expect the extent of the work he did to keep Ruin at bay.
The ending. I have no words. I think this is what the Game of Thrones wanted to do.
The queen, empress, mistborn was not who everyone thought she was. The Hero was unexpected but not unbelievable .

All the nuggets of information pulled together and made the fantastic whole trilogy come together.
This book had one of the best ending I have read in any book so far.

3.5
I wanted to love this book as I loved the "Time travelers wife " . I struggled a lot in the beginning and nearly DNF'ed it. I could not pin point why I just could not enjoy this as much as I would have thought. I saw a lot of negative comments about Adie and how her character did not make sense. That she did not travel as much as she should, or grow as much as you would expect in 300 years. That was not my problem with her. It took me nearly 80% of the book to figure out why I did not like this book at all. I just really did not like Adie. She was boring , selfish and just not very interesting.
So why did I give 3.5? Because I think it is beautifully written. I think the whole book could be very enjoyable to read and very thought provoking. I like the way the timeline switched.
The issues I have with it are only my personal preferences. I like fast passed books with main characters that I find likable . I do not have to relate to them, but if I hate the main protagonist I won't be able to enjoy myself.
