It’s done!! I’m finally DONE!! This book and this series was not bad by any means but it was not really my cup of tea and I’ll be quite honest it kind of has me in a reading burn out. The last 20% of this book saved the series in my eyes but man this was rough to get through.
There was a lot going on this entire series and for me, I couldn’t get attached to any of the characters. There were sad bits I guess but I cannot stress how happy I am to finally be free of this series. It is NOT like ACOTAR do not let booktok tell you otherwise.

.25 added for making me cry
I started this and Empire of Storms as a tandem read (after I said I wouldn't) and while it may have been good to finish as a tandem read, I didn't do that. I think there was maybe one part where I thought to myself "wow I should have kept up the tandem read" but other than that it wasn't really that big of a difference to me. So read them how you want.

I read this one third and I don't regret it, just some food for thought for people still considering the different reading orders.

Took me forever to finish and was just sort of boring. Was hoping for more actual history and less theory. Really complicated stuff in there for people who just want to learn more about the LGBT community’s history.
