I’ll try to revisit this when I’m back home and can flip through it again. I remember enjoying it more than volume 4 tho ✌🏻

This was…awful 😂 But I had so much fun reading it!

The writing was hilariously terrible. I laughed so much as I read this because the way so many sentences were written was ridiculous.

It was also funny to me how the sex scenes were written here. There was no tension building, not much description, because it was all straight to the point. Part of the hilarity is something pointed out in the book itself which is that the sexual encounters between these characters is giving porno 😂 Like Tasha gets dicked down often and is always willing to gulp down some jizz, but there’s no satisfying buildup or word choice in any of these scenes.

Anyway. I have no regrets that I read this, but it wasn’t very good.

This was iconic and so much fun! It was interesting, though, reading so many tinglers back to back in this way. I’ve gotten used to the format where the deranged story is first, and it’s then followed by a slightly less deranged story that often shows off a bit more of Chuck Tingle’s writing ability.

Still. My favorite in this collection for sure has to be “Dressed Up Handsome and Not Pounded Because Cosplay is not Consent.” Though I must admit the ending was a lil sad for me 😩 Didn’t need the twist with his bestie.

Another one I really liked was “Not Pounded By the Physical Manifestation of my Need to Please Everyone Because Sometimes It’s Okay to Give Back to Yourself.” This one had none or close to none of the quasi-sexual engagement in either eating or outdoor activities 😂 It was still chaos because we’re talking about Chuck Tingle here, but it was a lot more focused in on this stressed out guy and how he just needed to chill.

All in all, I have no regrets and I’m forever thankful to my friend Daniel who enables this chaos to return to my life 🙏🏻 He’s a real one

This volume was so action packed! I’m so glad we got some actual plot in here. I definitely needed something more concrete to happen in this to remind me why I love this series.

Although I adore Yor and Loid, I did like how central Anya was to this volume. Since her school bus gets hijacked, it means she must step up in order to try to protect her friends in this stressful situation as neither Yor nor Loid are able to intervene the way they usually would.

The only ridiculous part was the whole competition Yuri was trying to have for Yor’s love and affection 🙄 Please spare me from the incest vibes. It’s ridiculous. At least in this volume he was truly so deranged that I did lowkey find it funny.

Anyway. Anya and Damian forever 💖 I love my sweet babies 💖

This was such a cute and sweet installment to this series! I loved it 💖

We got so many adorable scenes between Sasaki and Yamada that absolutely melted my heart! I’m also always a sucker for the sick trope, and although this didn’t have a traditional use of it, I still felt giddy reading the conversation between Sasaki and Yamada while she was sick ✨

The addition of Obata was also a delight! He’s so awkward and cute. I love it 🤩 And his little crush on Goto is everything to me. Be still my heart! I’m so looking forward to the next installments in this series 💖

This was a sweet installment in this series 💖 There wasn’t much going on in terms of plot, but I still enjoyed myself.

We continue with the double identity thing, but I didn’t mind too much. I still like the contrast in the dynamic.

I also loved the inclusion of Daigoro 🥺 what a cute doggy!

To be fair, though, I didn’t need that visual of how when Sasaki was 22 Yamada was 1 😩 Like, for the most part, I’m fine with the age gap as the characters didn’t become close until she was 24, but it’s still like 😅 Do you need to slap us in the face like that?

I absolutely adored this. I had a blast reading it, and I can’t wait to pick up more volumes!

First of all, I personally love the color scheme of this webtoon. I’m an absolute sucker for a pastel aesthetic, and that was half the reason I picked it up in the first place. Overall, the art style is adorable and extremely consistent. It's great!

The second reason I picked this up was for the polyamory. I loooove reading polyamorous stories. This one was especially a treat as it had an extremely healthy representation of a poly relationship. The characters have clear communication between each other, set boundaries early on, and renegotiate anything they want to try or consider. It’s peak communication 👌🏻 Plus, they’re all super sweet and loving to one another. It absolutely melts my heart! 💖

Something else I love about this is the variety of representation and queer experience. We have a bi character, trans character, gay character, pan character… It’s a wide array. There’s people who think the representation is “stereotypical “ because it uses character archetypes (nerd, prep, goth, and jock)…but that literally means that inherently it can’t be a stereotypical representation of the mlm experience…because the stereotypes of gay/queer men literally do not fit all these archetypes 🤦🏻‍♀️

In conclusion, this genuinely brought me so much joy to read. It really made me smile so much and laugh so much.

P.S. The qualms some people have with this creator… 🤦🏻‍♀️ y'all really just want to be haters. Go drink something that isn’t haterade because mercilessly attacking a trans masc, queer, Indonesian creator is disgusting.

Reading this broke my spirit 😩

Once again, Mindy McGinnis hit me with an excellent read, but it hurt this time. It really did.

This truly doesn’t stray away from the difficult parts but also how easy it can be to fall into addiction. It vividly shares the rationalization a person can do in order to keep abusing drugs. It was heavy. It was maddening. It was heartbreaking. But I don’t regret reading it at all.

The main reason this wasn’t an obvious 5🌟 was because there was no reason for this to be a little over 400 pages. For a book mainly depicting addiction from the perspective of a character who is a softball player, there was not enough plot here to carry this successfully for that long of a page count.

Still. Mindy McGinnis is excellent at crafting interesting and complex characters, so I was still invested in what was happening as I read this.

Side note: Yeah, ngl. I loved having a Puerto Rican side character. Carolina is an icon 🙏🏻

This was a phenomenal novel. It truly leaves no doubt as to why it has maintained its relevancy. This is so not only because of its content but because of its craft.

One of the amazing things about this novel is how complexly Butler wrote each of the characters. All of them are far from perfect, and you can see both what might make them charming and horrifying. It was truly remarkable.

It’s a novel that explores not just how slavery continues to have lasting impacts on both Black and white people, but also a novel that explores the concept of how far you would go to preserve your own existence. How much would you be willing to overlook in order to make sure you get to exist in the future? What would it take for you to commit violence against another human being? What does it mean to care for someone who has and will continue to harm you?

This book explores that and so much more. It was a challenging read, but a worthwhile one. I am definitely grateful that I finally got around to reading it because of my sci-fi book club.
