This book, similar to the last, just left me wanting more. I feel like the author’s characters are so awesome and have the potential for so much more to be written about them. It’s like she gives hints about their lives but never takes the big leap to give us all the extra details I’m sure many of her readers want. Again though, another super cute and easy love story.

I honestly just wish this book was longer. I feel like the MCs spent the majority of the book overcoming grief which was fine, but I find myself hoping for a bit more excitement. At points it seemed the author was dropping hints that drama might ensue but it didn’t end up going that direction. Nonetheless, it was a great story about black loss, black love, community, and the importance of uplifting the people who made you who you are.

This was a quick and easy read. I was rooting for the characters but I honestly felt like I needed more. It was like this was almost too quick of a read. I could’ve used more details to develop the story as a whole. I think that would’ve helped set us up better for the ending. I truly felt like I could’ve read about Ave and Dasiah for another 100+ pages.

I loved this series as a whole and the final book to close the series didn’t disappoint. Cal and Alana are now my second favorite couple in the series. I laughed. I teared up. I rooted for their love story the entire way. Such an inspiring story to tell.
