I had a lot of fun reading this! I loved the Ireland setting and could easily picture myself right alongside Key and Lachlan as they explored castles and the countryside. The romance was cute and I was rooting for our main characters right from the beginning. The grumpy x sunshine vibes were on point! In terms of the fantasy element, I enjoyed it but I wish it was a bit more developed and less coincidental at times. Bringing in the history of the area was also a great aspect!

This was an intriguing read which informed me on a variety of topics concerning climate change and our economic and political systems. I enjoyed how Naomi Klein introduced topics in a way that was understandable for people new and currently in the environmental space. Her use of storytelling was also helpful in communicating her message.

A great addition to the Racc Pack series! Once again the Toronto setting was so much fun to read about! The humour and puns were on point, and I was constantly smiling while reading, There were also a lot of great pop culture references. It was great to see Dusty, ReRe, and Scraps again and read about their hijinks. The idea of a pet raccoon social media influencer was intriguing and it was a great play on the classic prince and the pauper story. Dusty and Prince decided to switch lives to learn more about each other's lives but they quickly realize how much they love and appreciate their own. Like book one, the illustrations were detailed and engaging and lovely to look at. The ending left an opening for another book in the series which I'm excited to read! This is a great read for graphic novel lovers of all ages, especially Torontonians! I mean, who wouldn't be excited to read a story about raccoons? (And maybe an opossum 🤫)

Content Warnings: panic attacks, anxiety, addiction

If you're looking for a story centred on family and what it feels like to belong, then this is the book for you! I'm not very knowledgeable on astrology and divination so this was a fun way to dive into it. Alongside Stella, we learn more about everything like astrology, Tarot cards, to palm readings, crystals, and more. There's even a section at the back which explains each topic in more detail. There was a lot of character growth from Stella as she navigates this new and stressful situation of her father's new fiancée as well as her mother's addiction. However, I would have liked to see more growth from the side characters, like Stella's brother and soon-to-be stepsister. Stella has anxiety which I think is very well represented in this book. She also has a support dog Pog which was very cute. In addition to personal growth, we also explore what it means to be a family and how communication is important for every kind of relationship. I'd recommend North of Supernova to readers interested in fortune-telling and astrology!

Content Warnings: anxiety, panic attacks

I loved the setting of this book! The writing instantly connected me to beautiful beaches and sun-filled days while also exploring more serious topics like the danger of the ocean. The plot was intriguing and I especially liked learning more about Chinese mythology and the legend of the water goddess. There were also a few scenes that took place in the past which further added to the intrigue. However, I wish that the end was a bit more drawn out. I really enjoyed reading about Kaya. We get to see her learn more about her family's history and her fear of water while testing her new powers. Kaya struggles with anxiety which I thought was well represented in this book. It also explores how this impacts her relationships with her friends and family which was a great addition. All in all, a fun read, I enjoyed seeing Kaya grow and learn what it truly means to be confident in yourself.

I think this would have benefitted from being a full-length book. I wished I had more time to get invested in the romance and know the characters more. But it was a fun read, with good Christmas/winter vibes.

I had so much fun reading this book! Our main characters Sébastien and Elia were intriguing to read about. Throughout the first volume, they each are working towards living their lives authentically and figuring out what they truly want. They were so sweet and their romance/meet cute was adorable, I was rooting for them from the beginning! The world setting was interesting to learn about and the idea of a supernatural world separate from the human world made me excited to hear more. I also loved the side characters! They each had their own fleshed-out stories and I couldn't help but be invested in them. I also could not get enough of Sébastien's grumpy pet bunny Pierre, he was hilarious 😂. This volume left me wanting more and I can't wait to read the next volume!
