This was pretty good...

A fairly quick read. I thought that throughout the book John Eldredge did a good job relating the points he was trying to make with the reader, and did a fabulous job in drawing the reader in through modern films and stories.

My favorite point made in this book is how many of us do not like the idea that in heaven all we do is sing worship songs all day, and how the author explains there is so much more to heaven than even our minds can imagine, as we cannot fit God into the box of faulty human minds.

I had to read this for one of my college courses and got an early start on it.

It was a quick read, and I thought it was creative in the sense of how the author wrote her story.

I did manage to complete the book. However this "romeo x juliet" esque book was very lacking. It had racey scenes like it was trying to appeal to older teens, but the writing and conversations felt like it should have been set in middle school. Definitely played on a cheesy side of romance to the point of being humorous. The bad boy thing wasn't well built either. He seemed to just be a good guy with the mask of a bad boy with how much they had to verify his actions, "he beat this guy up because of this reasoning" and "he's doing this illegal action because he had no other choice!". His best friend fit the "bad boy" appeal better than the main love interest did.

A poorly written novel in the guise of sexual tension. ~ There were so many issues I had with this novel. I so desperately wanted to love it, the opening drew me in. Then it just kept getting worse and worse.

A lot of people I realized had a similar feeling as I did while reading this. It was difficult to like the character when you didn't really even learn about her until the third chapter, there was so much obscure information, that once it was revealed made no sense or was no longer relevant. Just not my cup of tea.
