I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman by Nora Ephron
4.0
Really fun read. Well written. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who picks at myself. That we all have an internal dialog that isn't always so nice. Some of my favorite passages...
“Oh, how I regret not having worn a bikini for the entire year I was twenty-six. If anyone young is reading this, go, right this minute, put on a bikini, and don't take it off until you're thirty-four.”
“Here are some questions I am constantly noodling over: Do you splurge or do you hoard? Do you live every day as if it's your last, or do you save your money on the chance you'll live twenty more years? Is life too short, or is it going to be too long? Do you work as hard as you can, or do you slow down to smell the roses? And where do carbohydrates fit into all this? Are we really all going to spend our last years avoiding bread, especially now that bread in American is so unbelievable delicious? And what about chocolate?”

Just ok. A bit heavy handed with the morality. Feels a bit repetitive like being beaten over the head with it. But still a pretty and well written story with nice imagery.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle

A little self righteous and preachy for a self help memior. I think her lessons were heavy handed in an unapproachable way and I didn't really care for the book. I finished it and it was a quick read, but I wouldn't be suggesting it to others.
Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life by Ali Wong

Foul mouthed and funny. Ali always gets me to giggle. I loved that this book was a letter to her girls to show give them stories of their mother's youth and to stomp some advice down their throats whether they want it or not. But certainly for when they're older. If you don't like talk of eating a$$ skip this one. But for those with a raunchy sense of humor, grab the audiobook and listen to Ali read it herself. Its 6 hours of fun.
