I was skeptical of this book at first. Either folks loved it or hated it and as I am recently new to the world of dystopian novels I never know what I'm going to get it but I'm finding out lately that I love this genre.

This whole super vain world Scott Westerfield has created reminds me a lot of reality but then not so much. It was well written the novel answered my basic who what and why questions. As to how thisworld came about. Which I was happy about it didn't leave me completely hanging on a limb. I want to continue the series because it is interesting not because I feel as though I have no choice.

All the characters are really unsure of themselves. Your ugly your put down by fellow UGLIES and even worse the PRETTIES. Youre sent off to a dorm where you don't hardly see anyone but other uglies. At 16 your sent to become pretty and party your life away until your ready to become a working member of society. Its so funny that when you're a littlie you're cute but the moment you hit puberty you're this hideous thing the world sends off to be with other hideous things. I think its just that the society cant handle the different hormones of teenagers.

You Then you grow up after the surgery at 16 (well not really). It reminds me of a highschooler going to college right at the peak of their hormonal changes ( Except you don't go to college but you do party like your in college) you dont have to worry about being jealous of someone being prettier than. you cause you all look the same. Or smarter causes you're all just as dumb as a box of rocks. I secretly thought as I read this that its probably a vast majority of today's teens that would take being popular and stupid over average and smart who would gladly sign up for this proceedure. Sad but true.

The thing I found funny in this book wasthe scene when she found what I think would be a magazine like OK or something with the celebrities and their gossip in it. The character looked at what our world view as attractive and still thought they were ugly. My thoughts were. WOW so what does this surgery make them look like in the end it cant be human. The whole time I'm picturing the pretties I'm picturing models and all these "beautiful celebrities" of the world today. But even they are viewed as ugly hmmm... well I cant picture these Prettiest anymore after that scene all I see is a plastic doll now. That was my only gripe about the book really. It really was an enjoyable read. :)

To sum up...
Worldbuilding- ok
Characters- enjoyable
Plot- original and creative
Execution- good
Recommending-Yes

Despite the few grammatical errors this was a good book. A solid 3.75 but None of my questions were answered in this book ( I know its to keep you interested and buying the other books and hey its probably a whole lot more to tell but me being me i knocked off .25 points) and honestly the constant action sort of makes you forget about it and you become eager to get to the rest of Reid's story.

I'll be honest I didn't think I would finish it not that it was bad in the beginning just that it was scary to me and I didn't think I could stomach a whole 241 pages of it. But I was glad I stuck it out.

I would definitely recommend this book hell it was free who doesn't like free reads? And I definitely don't mind spending money on the rest of this series or at least the 2nd book.

I thoroughly enjoy this series. I thought the first book would be the best & the rest would have lost steam but this book did not disappoint however you're left with a cliffhanger. You can pretty much guess it but you're still like "Aw come man why would you end HERE"!!!

Anyway this book get 2 thumbs UP! Will be getting the 3rd book asap. And this book series will definitely be getting recommended. :)

BTW this is one love triangle I'm not sure I can pick a team for...

Very enjoyable book. Although the heroine irritated me to no end. This is still among my fave books. The fighting scenes were Awesome! PUCK is such a smartass & I love it Ash is awesome but I'm drawn to Puck maybe that's why I couldn't stand Meghan. Anyway this book gets 2 thumbs up and I'm eager to read Iron King simply because its going to be Ash's story....

So yea I'm kicking myself for taking so long to finish this book, ive been doing a gazillion other things and reading has been on the back burner :(. ANYWAY this series isn't like other series I'm reading that has lost steam after the 1st book this is GOOD!!!! Ms. Moning knows how to keep you HOOKED & I LOVE it!

JERICHO BARRONS
I was wondering what the other women were thinking having a thing for Jericho he was an ASSHOLE but I have grown to love him scary, bad ass, violent and secretive Barron's. I am officially his Fangirl! SIGHS

GRIPES & RATING
MAC is still LONG winded still telling all those back stories but they dont annoy me as much. However she was childlike and very naive in this one even after all she's been through. the flesh eating had me ready to barf & I hope it wont be anymore of that or at least not as descriptive as it was in this book. Anyway the book gets 4.5 stars from me the only reason its 4.5 instead of 5 is cause something is ALWAYS interrupting their makeout sessions I know it could lead to more but I know it isn't going to happen & that's frustrating because the chemistry is all there between MAC & Jericho sighs let me stop whining. Definetely will be continuing this series too excited to find out more about Jericho (I hope its more sooner than later.)

Anyway 2 thumbs up!!

The book was enjoyable! Abby was annoying, Jess was semi-hot. I've been saying that the mythology was iffy but in fact it wasn't I've been realizing that when I read SK's later books I get the same feelings I'm so stuck on the Greek mythology that when she introduces new mythology it takes me some time to take it in.

Nevertheless the book gets a 4 star rating. Very fast paced as most of Mrs. Kenyon's books are so of course ita always going to be insta-love in there. The hero is ALWAYS scarred I'm beginning to believe she enjoys torturing men lol jk. the heroine isn't my favorite. Sasha was brought back as well as badass Zarek. Then at the end my absolute favorite character came back SIMI love her routing for a short story on her or something (who agrees). I can't believe I am saying this because I have a serious hatred for her, but Artemis didn't manage to piss me off she was decent. I wonder what Nick is doing to her. {My thoughts is she knows nick plans on killing him, her hell everybody & is trying to make amends, who knows. Just my little brain trying to work that out} Well I Wonder how long we have to wait to find out the new deal with Artemis. Anyway to Kenyon fans the world over this book didn't disappoint and if you're a late Kenyon reader as I am get this book!!!

Point deducted for that ending. But otherwise it was a Great Book!

Remy was a Kickass heroine. Blue was just there to me, but I loved Lazlo. He reminded me of a normal person he wasn't the overly badass hero in all the other books (well he wasn't bad ass at all lol) he reminded me of a regular old Joe just trying to fit in. And Up until about 60% I wouldn't have minded if Harlow had got ate up but zombies but her character got so much better. Thjs book was not short of Gore, blood, guts and , green zombie goo. But I'm afraid if I keep typing I'm going to type out the entire story. So ill just say this was my very FIRST full Zombie novel and it did not disappoint. Two thumbs up want to get the next book NOW!

Oh I forgot my 2 favorite things about this book... it was FREE & RIPLEY!!!

Upset this is another book I purchased a while back. I put it on the back burner for reasons unknown and what I can say that I haven't said in a while about a DH book is that.... I LOVED It!!! I mean don't get me wrong SK is still one of my Fave authors but lately the books have been kinda... BLAH I still enjoy them and can not give them a low rating just because I love the characters so much, but I haven't been in Love with a DH book this way since Bride and Vane's story. Seth story however wasn't it was the 2nd hurtful past I read in all the Dark hunter/ Dream Hunter/ Were Hunter stories, Acheron being the 1st. But unlike Acheron's story Seths wasn't OVERDONE It was just enough heartache, betrayal, and of course torture. That in itself gave it a great score. Lydia was a kickass heroine, the plot was executed well, the slight twists because there was more than one (all of which I guessed)were just great. I can tell as in with any other DH book that I will be seeing more of Lydia and Seth because they're tied into Nior/ Azura and now the Malachai. That I am excited for, Can't wait!
